thousands of animals drown after ship sinks in sudan

A ship loaded with 15,800 sheep sank ahead of leaving Suakin, the coastal city of Sudan. The ship was reportedly heading towards Saudi Arabia, and had a maximum carrying capacity of 8,000 animals. The accident may have happened for this reason, authorities said, adding that the entire crew was rescued.

Thousands of animals that drown in the sea could cause economic and environmental problems, authorities added.
