Thousands of dead fish washed up on the beaches of Brazoria and Quintana in the US state of Texas last Friday. Quintana Beach County Park management said most of the fish were “Menhaden” baitfish, and the deaths were caused by low oxygen levels in the water due to rising air temperatures. The public has been warned not to go to beaches with dead fish due to high bacterial levels.
