Thousands police took streets in Belgium

In the Belgian capital Brussels, thousands of police came together at the North Train Station to protest the violence against the police. The police, holding banners with the words “Blue lives matter,” called on the government to improve salaries and allocate adequate funding for occupational safety issues. “This government has promised to make the police profession more attractive. But so far the opposite has happened,” the protesters said, asking the government to review police compensation and benefits.

Thomos Monjoi, a 29-year-old police officer who was killed in a knife attack while on patrol near Brussels’ Northern Train Station on November 10, was also remembered during the protest.
