thousands protest against mandatory covid pass in italy, clash with police

Thousands gathered at the port of Trieste in the northeast of Italy to protests against mandatory COVID Pass.  The protesters held sit-in in front of the port gate. The police intervened with water cannons and tear gas after protesters confronted the warnings of police that called on crowd to disperse. The conflict spread over the city. A large group of protesters gathered at the Unit d’Italia Square in the city center with slogans after marching.

In Italy, the “COVID Green Pass” application was made mandatory in all workplaces on 15 October.
