Thousands take part in France protests for better wages

Many professional groups took to the streets in France to protest the rising cost of living. In the events that erupted in many cities, including the capital, Paris, 11 people were detained. Many professional groups went on strike in response to the call of leading labor unions to protest inflation, cost of living, pension and unemployment reforms. More than 100,000 people, including students, teachers, railway workers, and health workers, took part in demonstrations across the country.

The protesters also condemned the government’s takeover of the strike refinery and oil distribution depots.
