A deadly hantavirus outbreak on a luxury cruise ship anchored off the coast of Cape Verde has claimed three lives and infected four others. The Dutch-flagged MV Hondius, carrying 147 international passengers on a high-end nature expedition, has been barred from docking by local authorities to prevent the spread of the rare rodent-borne virus. With no known cure for the severe respiratory illness, one infected passenger currently remains in critical condition while three others exhibit mild symptoms.
