Tornado hits US southeast and resulted in 7 deaths

Tornadoes and heavy rain hit the states of Alabama and Georgia in the southeast of the USA. At least 6 people lost their lives in Autauga County and another person died as a result of a tree falling on their vehicle in Butts County. Governor Ivey announced that Autauga, Chambers, Coosa, Dallas, Elmore and Tallapoosa counties were the most affected areas, and he declared a state of emergency for these six counties after the severe weather struck.

More than 250 flights were also canceled or delayed at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and Charlotte Douglas International Airport. Moreover, 40,000 households in Alabama and 86,000 in Georgia were without electricity.
