Tourists Flock to Japan after Yen’s Weakening

Japan, which is battling against the inevitable depreciation in its currency, yen, was flooded with tourists. Millions of people coming to Japan from various Asian countries, as well as European countries and the USA, are shopping at affordable prices, while stimulating the Japanese tourism sector. Places like Asakusa, Tokyo’s historical district, are swarmed by tourists.

“It is quite cheap for us. This place is worth visiting for those who earn money in Europe,” said Fatma Yıldız, a Turk living in Germany.

“There are a lot of visitors from abroad because the Japanese Yen is cheap now. We are happy that we have more customers now,” said Chinese Ashley Wu, a shopkeeper.
