At Trabzon Provincial Gendarmerie Command, the dynamic duo of narcotics search dogs, Duman and Limon, serve as invaluable assets in curbing criminal activities across 18 districts. Through their exceptional work, these canines have become a nightmare for drug dealers, aiding in successful operations and becoming staunch allies of the gendarmerie.
Prepared daily on specialized tracks alongside their instructors to tackle any challenges during duty, Duman and Limon are hailed as essential companions by the gendarmerie. Their unparalleled olfactory capabilities enable them to locate drugs in places beyond human perception, rendering them pivotal in drug busts and disrupting illegal activities.
Gendarmerie Specialist Sergeant Muhammet Uzun, overseeing Duman, shed light on the dogs’ routines and operational readiness. He highlighted their year-long training, emphasizing the meticulous processes that encompass puppy training, scent detection, and obedience training over five months. Only after rigorous tests and challenging training sessions are successful dogs assigned to Provincial Gendarmerie Commands, making them indispensable assets in combating narcotics-related crimes.
