Traditional Bocuk Festival held in Türkiye’s Edirne

The “Bocuk Festival” was held in costume in the Turkish village of Camlica in the Kesan district of Edirne, Türkiye. It is a medieval Thrace tradition held to commemorate the Bocuk Night, which usually coincides with the harshest winter night. Every year on Bocuk Night, participants dress as ghosts to frighten others in white sheet costumes symbolize the evil creature called Bocuk.
