With the start of the 9-day Eid holiday, a significant number of Istanbul residents opted to travel to vacation spots or their hometowns. This exodus was further fueled by the coinciding school break, prompting citizens to disperse across various locations. As a result, many busy intersections and congested areas in the megacity experienced a noticeable decrease in traffic flow, with some spots showing occasional vehicle movement. According to IBB Mobile’s traffic data, morning traffic density dropped by 6 percent. Aerial views captured the relatively empty areas of Istanbul, such as Cevizlibağ and Bakırköy, highlighting the mass departure during the holiday period.
