Transportation workers and unions carried out road blockades in Lebanon

In Lebanon, public transportation sector workers and unions where hits economic crisis carried out road blockades in response to the price hikes in fuel and the government’s failure to act on the situation. Protesters blocked roads in cities and towns as well as highways in the country. Taxi, bus and truck drivers demanded the reintroduction of the subsidy which was lifted after rise in dollar. Schools and public enterprises were closed after students couldn’t arrive to their schools and workers couldn’t arrive to their work places due to countrywide strike. Also long vehicle traffics occurred on the roads.
