Trash crisis in Paris as strikes over pension reform continue

Garbage collectors have joined the major strikes in France over pension reform plans, leaving the streets of Paris with thousands of tons of garbage. Several of the city’s most attractive avenues are covered with rubbish piles, even those just steps from monuments like the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe.

Additionally, Macron declined requests for a meeting. He claimed that the unions had time to talk with the administration in recent months and that it is now time for parliament to evaluate the proposed changes.”
