TRNC Citizens Arrested After Delivering Cameroonian Robbers to Police

Three Turkish Cypriots were arrested after capturing two Cameroonian robbers who robbed a foreign exchange office in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and killed its owner, Ayça Alav, in TRNC on December 22 and delivering them to police. They were charged with kidnapping, deprivation of liberty, carrying handcuffs without permission, and being a member of a criminal organization.

The Turkish Cypriots, Hüseyin Demirli and his two friends, caught the Cameroonians after they were asked to smuggle them abroad. After persuading the robbers to smuggle them to Egypt, the Turkish Cypriots took them to their vehicles, tied their hands, and handed them over to the TRNC police in the village of Pile.

“I first confronted the murderers we neutralized by video calling the husband of Ayça Alav, who was brutally murdered, and then took him to the border,” said Demirel in the video he captured while taking the assailants to the TRNC police.
