Trump: Ceasefire deal possible in weeks

After hosting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and European leaders at the White House, US President Donald Trump said a ceasefire with Russia could be reached “within a week or two.” He confirmed indirect talks with Vladimir Putin and called for a trilateral agreement.

Zelensky stressed security guarantees and the return of abducted Ukrainian children. NATO chief Mark Rutte urged urgent action, while EU and European leaders emphasized unity, with Macron saying NATO must also support Ukraine. German Chancellor Merz and others pushed for a ceasefire as the first step toward lasting peace.
