US President Donald Trump praised Türkiye and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan during a reception for newly appointed ambassadors at the White House. Among them was Tom Barrack, nominated as the next US Ambassador to Ankara. Barrack described Türkiye as “one of the most ancient civilizations,” while Trump called it “a good country with a good leader.”
