Trump to Attend Notre Dame Reopening in Paris

Donald Trump, recently re-elected as U.S. President, will visit Paris on December 7 for his first overseas trip to attend the reopening ceremony of Notre Dame Cathedral. French President Emmanuel Macron will host 50 world leaders for the event marking the cathedral’s restoration after a devastating fire in 2019.

Trump expressed his honor on social media, stating, “It will be a very special day for everyone. President Macron has done a wonderful job ensuring that Notre Dame has been restored to its full level of glory.”

Notre Dame, a Gothic architectural icon, suffered significant damage in the fire, with its roof and bell tower destroyed. A restoration campaign raised €846 million, involving over 250 companies and hundreds of experts. The cause of the fire remains unknown.
