turkey donates books to hungary’s largest national library

Turkey donated books to Szecenyi Library, Hungary’s largest national library. Turkey’s ambassador to Budapest Akif Oktay delivered 200 books sent by the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism with a ceremony in the library.  Ambassador Oktay and the accompanying delegation were welcomed by Szecenyi Library General Manager David Rozsa and Deputy General Manager Judit Gerencser. Rozsa thanked Turkey for the books Turkey gave them as a gift and announced that they would put the said books in the ‘Turkish Corner’ in their library.

“We wanted to hold this event earlier, but we had to postpone it due to the Covid-19 outbreak. From history to geography, from art to culture, the books will be exhibited in the previously established Turkish Corner and will be made available to users,” Oktay said, adding that the books will further consolidate the friendship between the two countries.
