Türkiye has handed over the command of the Peace Force in Kosovo (KFOR) at the military headquarters in Pristina, the capital of Kosovo, to Italy in a ceremony after.
In her speech at the ceremony, Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani stated that KFOR has been taking every step with Kosovo for 25 years to make Kosovo a secure and peaceful country, and said, “I want to once again pledge that the people and institutions of Kosovo will continue to work closely with KFOR.”
KFOR was established by NATO to ensure security in Kosovo following NATO’s air operation against Serbia in 1999.
