The fourth drilling ship added to Turkey’s fleet docked at Taşucu port in Mersin’s Silifke district. The ship arrived in the Mediterranean at Tasucu Nato Port of Mersin from Okpo Port in South Korea. The ship, which had been anchored for three hours about 500 meters from the port, was docked in an hour with the assistance of tugboats.
The 238-meter-long and 42-meter-wide ship, which has advanced technology of the seventh generation, is expected to make its first mission in the Eastern Mediterranean. The ship, which has a tower height of 104 meters and currently goes by the name “Cobalt Explorer,” is expected to get a new name. The fourth drill ship in Turkey also has an active positioning system. With a crew of 200 people, the ship can drill at a depth of 12,200 meters.
