Turkey’s Alanya suffers from foreigners renting their properties, local estate agent says

Foreigners in Alanya, Turkey’s Antalya province, have begun to rent out the homes they have purchased in recent years on a daily and monthly basis. According to Özgur Erbaş, President of the Alanya Real Estate Agents Association (ALEMDER), Russian and Ukrainian residents attempt this due to the high rental income.

Erbaş explained the consequences of the situation, emphasizing that the daily rental flats are dependent on the procedures and that inspections should be increased. “These foreigners break the rules. We are trying to educate them by providing training,” Erbaş said. “They will try anything for money. Alanya has suffered as a result, both in terms of taxation and demographic structure. “The apartments that these people purchased must be inspected.”
