Turkish Air Force Training Aircraft Crashes, Pilot Ejects

An NF-5 training aircraft, part of the Turkish Air Force’s Turkish Stars Aircraft fleet, crashed into a construction site within Konya’s 3rd Main Jet Base Command during a routine training flight. Tragically, a military personnel operating construction equipment at the site was killed, while the pilot, Major Şükrü Gümüş, managed to eject safely using a parachute. Gümüş was hospitalized as a precaution, and authorities swiftly dispatched police, gendarmerie, health, AFAD, fire brigade, and search and rescue teams to the scene. Konya Governor Vahdettin Özkan also visited the site to assess the situation. The Ministry of National Defense confirmed the loss of a personnel member involved in runway repair work and announced the initiation of necessary investigations.
