To counter this political narrative, digital advertising vans circled the area displaying historical facts and honoring Turkish diplomats assassinated by the ASALA terrorist organization in the 1970s and 1980s. Representatives from major Turkish-American civil society groups expressed deep disappointment over the remarks and emphasized the need for solidarity.
