The evacuation of Turkish citizens from Lebanon continues following the escalating conflict due to Israel’s bombing. A total of 169 Turkish nationals were flown from Beirut to Türkiye on a charter flight. The plane first landed at Çukurova Airport, where 110 passengers disembarked, before proceeding to Istanbul Airport with 59 passengers.
One of the evacuees, who wished to remain anonymous, said, “You must have seen it on TV. We were caught in the middle. I was working as a civil servant.” Another passenger expressed the challenges of living in Lebanon, adding, “Life in Lebanon is very difficult. I’m relieved to return to Istanbul.”
