Turkish citizens in Ukraine set off from Moldova to Istanbul

Turkish citizens who arrived in Moldova by car or public transportation set off from Chisinau in the direction of Istanbul on 3 evacuation buses organized by the Turkish Embassy in Chisinau.

Halil Gürol Sökmensüer, Turkey’s Ambassador to Chisinau, expressed his hope that such incidents would not occur again, saying, “Today, we have more than ten buses available for our citizens. We attempted to host many of our citizens at our Embassy last night, as we had done previously, and now we are sending them to Turkey. By doing its best, Turkey has now evacuated two-thirds of its citizens. By rail, road, and plane, we were able to evacuate from both Romania and the north of Ukraine.”
