Turkish Coast Guard Rescues Migrants Left at Sea by Greece

Irregular migrants on a boat left off the coast of Samos Island by Greek authorities were rescued by a Turkish Coast Guard boat on July 24.

“During the reconnaissance and surveillance operation conducted by the UAV of the Naval Forces Command on July 24, 2024, it was observed that the Greek Coast Guard boat left a boat carrying irregular migrants in the area west of Kuşadası Women’s Sea, northeast of Samos Island. The migrants, who were struggling in the stormy weather, were rescued by one of our Coast Guard boats that arrived in the region,” stated the Turkish Ministry of National Defense.
