Turkish Firefighting Aircrafts Arrive in Greece to Combat Wildfires

Türkiye has sent two firefighting planes and a helicopter to Greece to assist in battling the ongoing wildfires near Varnava, close to the capital, Athens. The fires, fueled by strong winds, have spread across the Attica region.

Following an offer of assistance from Türkiye, Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan communicated to the Greek government that Türkiye was ready to provide support under the framework of good neighborly relations. Greece, after assessing the situation, accepted the offer.

The Turkish firefighting aircraft have now arrived at Venizelos Airport, ready to join the efforts to control the devastating wildfires.
