Turkish FM Hakan Fidan Meets Syrian President al-Shara

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan made a working visit to Syria, where he was received by Syrian President Ahmed al-Shara. The discussions focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation in areas such as security, the fight against terrorism (including ISIS and the PKK/YPG), and Syria’s reconstruction. Both parties emphasized the importance of preserving Syria’s territorial integrity and unity, especially in the context of ongoing challenges in northeastern Syria. The meeting also addressed Israel’s actions in the region, which were seen as a threat to regional stability. Fidan’s visit follows previous diplomatic efforts aimed at stabilizing Syria, with continued discussions on security, political, economic, and humanitarian issues.
