Türkiye’s Special Forces Command set a new national record with a freefall parachute jump carrying a giant Turkish flag in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC). The Turkish Ministry of National Defense said Senior Staff Sergeant Ertan Üstündağ completed the jump in Geçitkale with a flag measuring 661.5 square meters, surpassing the previous 2005 record.

The ministry said the flag is larger than a standard basketball court, with the tandem system weighing a total of 203 kilograms. The record jump was carried out by the Turkish Armed Forces as part of Special Forces operations
