Turkish Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu made statements about NATO and PKK-YPG

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu made important statements before the meeting in Germany, where he came to attend the NATO Foreign Ministers Meeting. Çavuşoğlu told that they will meet with the Foreign Ministers of Finland and Sweden regarding the NATO membership initiative of Finland and Sweden. “We are in close contact with both ministers. But NATO membership is another matter. Here, the reason for Turkey’s stance is quite clear. NATO is not a union, not an organization. NATO is an ally. What does this require? It’s not just a matter of security, it requires shoulder to shoulder solidarity. Especially when there is an threat to security in any area” Çavuşoğlu said.

In his statement, Minister Çavuşoğlu stated that Finland and Sweden openly support PKK-YPG terrorist organizations. “Unfortunately, the countries we mentioned give very open support to PKK-YPG terrorist organizations. Therefore, a country that will be an ally shouldn’t openly support PKK-YPG terrorist organizations, a terrorist organization that attacks us every day and martyrs our soldiers and police. They also imposed many restrictions on us because of our fight against the PKK. Therefore, we will of course openly discuss all these with them and our other allies,” Çavuşoğlu said.
