Turkish Hospital Employee Showcases Artistic Talent

Hediye Cevizci, a medical secretary at Diyarbakır Gazi Yaşargil Training and Research Hospital, has turned her pandemic-born passion for painting into a successful exhibition at her workplace.

During the Covid-19 lockdowns, Cevizci, who has been in healthcare for 14 years, began drawing at home. Her interest soon evolved into oil painting, resulting in 18 pieces that she displayed in a hospital exhibition.

Cevizci received enthusiastic feedback from her colleagues, who found the vibrant colors of her paintings uplifting. “I’ve always had a passion for painting,” she said. “In the past two and a half years, I’ve created nearly 18 works and decided to open my first exhibition at the hospital. The positive reactions from my colleagues were incredibly motivating.”

Cevizci shared her journey from pencil drawings to mastering oil painting during the pandemic, noting how the encouragement from friends and colleagues led to the exhibition. “As my collection grew, my friends encouraged me to exhibit. The result has been very rewarding,” she added.
