Turkish Innovation Offers Solution to US Wildfires

The world’s most powerful forest fire extinguisher, “Stone Water,” developed in Balıkesir, Türkiye, has garnered international attention for its eco-friendly and highly effective properties. Invented by Faruk Durukan, owner of the R&D company behind its production, Stone Water is noted for preventing re-ignition in treated areas. Scientific studies confirm that 1 ton of Stone Water has the extinguishing power of 200 tons of water.

First tested in Greece’s 2000 forest fires, Stone Water proved its effectiveness by halting the blaze. Recognized with the METU Best R&D Award in 2013, it has been acknowledged in nearly 200 scientific publications.

Durukan expressed readiness to assist the U.S. in combating its ongoing wildfires, saying, “If America wants, we are ready to help and send materials.” Highlighting the urgency, he added, “Forests and living beings are dying needlessly. We aim to solve these problems and will continue our efforts.”
