Turkish, Japanese Foreign Ministers Discuss Gaza and Bilateral Ties

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan met with his Japanese counterpart Takeshi Iwaya during the G-20 Foreign Ministers Meeting in Johannesburg. The talks focused on political and economic relations, defense industry cooperation, and advanced technology.

Fidan emphasized the need for a joint international effort to secure a lasting ceasefire in Gaza, stressing that a two-state solution is the only path to resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The ministers also discussed security issues in the Asia-Pacific region.
