Turkish Military Pilots on 24/7 Standby for Wildfire Response

Türkiye’s Army Aviation Command is on constant alert with helicopter crews ready to combat forest fires, playing a critical role in protecting natural areas. The Turkish Armed Forces (TAF), as part of its “Reserve Force,” deploys specialized CH-47, S-70, and AS532 helicopters equipped with fire buckets, capable of carrying 2,500 to 7,500 liters of water, to swiftly suppress fires across the nation. Maintenance teams ensure aircraft readiness, while pilots receive regular training to handle emergency firefighting operations. This around-the-clock readiness enables quick response to wildfires, limiting damage and evacuating at-risk residents as needed.
