Transport and Infrastructure Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu revealed staggering figures of over 11.2 million vehicles traversing Türkiye’s highways during the recent Eid holiday. Key bridges such as the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge and 15 July Martyrs Bridge saw unprecedented traffic, with millions flocking to holiday destinations. Uraloğlu highlighted the intensive use of Build-Operate-Transfer Highway projects and General Directorate of Highways-managed routes, notably citing the Northern Marmara Highway’s 3.46 million vehicle crossings and the Osmangazi Bridge’s peak daily usage of 117,537 vehicles during the period.
