In a historic milestone, 28-year-old Lieutenant Hilal Aydın has officially become the first female aircraft pilot in the history of the Turkish Navy. Inspired by her father’s military career, Aydın fulfilled her lifelong ambition by graduating from the Naval Academy and successfully completing a rigorous flight training program. Now serving aboard a maritime patrol aircraft in Kocaeli, she describes the achievement as deeply meaningful. “Becoming a pilot was a turning point in my professional life,” Aydın said, adding that she had “always wanted to be a soldier since childhood.”
