Turkish needle laces made by Japanese display at Exhibition in Tokyo

Turkish ‘Yemeni’ needle lace made by Japanese are displayed at The Traditional Turkish Lace Exhibition held at Tokyo Yunus Emre institution in Japan.  The exhibition, which includes colorful motifs, also hosted interactive activities such as needle lace workshop. Chiyaki Kitaya, the owner of the exhibition, which allows the Japanese to learn the traditional art of needle lace, said that she got to know the art of needle lace at an exhibition held years ago and became interested in it. Kitaya said that in this exhibition they present the motifs in a book they had previously published to promote the art of needle lace.

The Traditional Turkish Needle Lace Exhibition will remain open until September 26.
