Turkish Plateau’s Unique Architecture Shines in Spring

Yanıklı Village Plateau, situated at an altitude of 2,100 meters in Artvin, Türkiye, draws attention with its distinct wooden architecture. As spring arrives, the melting snow reveals the blooming landscape and the snow-capped peaks of the 3,500-meter-high Karçal Mountains. Captured in a stunning aerial shot, the plateau features 170 wooden, single-storey houses built on a slope safe from avalanches and wind.

These historic homes, resilient against the elements, are preparing to welcome village residents and their cattle for the summer months. Drone pilot Mert Yılmaz visited the plateau ahead of the villagers, capturing breathtaking views of the snowy peaks and vibrant nature.
