Turkish Ankara Gendarmerie Special Public Security Command (JÖAK) Underwater Search and Rescue (SAK) teams were entered a camp in Çıldır Lake, located between Ardahan and Kars cities in Turkey, as a part of high altitude and icy water diving training. Due to the 107th anniversary of the Sarıkamış Operation, SAK teams carried out a diving activity in Çıldır Lake, which surface was completely frozen, in memory of Sarıkamış martyrs. While it’s surface is completely covered with ice, SAK divers cut 20 centimeters of ice on the Çıldır Lake with a chainsaw and scuba dived into the lake. The divers dived for about 20 minutes into cold waters.
