The Türkiye-Albania Fier Friendship Hospital, located in southern Albania and built with Turkish financial support, has provided healthcare to thousands since opening in 2021. The hospital has performed 802,000 procedures, with its 150-bed facility serving patients from Fier and beyond. Staffed by 41 professionals from Türkiye and 249 from Albania, the hospital has become a key healthcare provider in the region.
Director Rudina Degjoni praised the hospital’s impact, noting a 32% increase in capacity and services since its opening. Patients from Albania and abroad, including those from Bulgaria and Italy, have expressed high satisfaction with the hospital’s services, praising its skilled staff and quality care.
Constructed in just 68 days during the COVID-19 pandemic, the hospital supports 500,000 people locally, with an expanded reach during the summer tourism season. The Turkish personnel play a critical role not only in patient care but also in training Albanian healthcare staff.
