Decades of closed borders between Türkiye and Armenia could soon end as both nations take concrete steps to normalize their diplomatic relations. Following recent milestones like resumed flights and high-level government meetings, negotiations are now focused on reviving the long-dormant Kars-Gyumri railway. Closed since 1993, the reopening of this strategic rail link would establish a vital new trade route connecting Asia to Europe through the so-called “Middle Corridor.” International observers and local officials remain highly optimistic that these ongoing talks will finally unlock critical economic opportunities for the entire region.
