The Turkish Diyanet Foundation (TDV) extends support to 100 Muslim families in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh, by distributing Ramadan boxes. TDV focuses on meeting the needs of Rohingya Muslims who fled persecution in Myanmar and seeks to aid people from various religious backgrounds in forest villages. Notably, some Buddhists and Hindus, touched by TDV’s assistance, converted to Islam. TDV’s Bangladesh Coordinator, Oğuzhan Adsız, emphasized the start of Ramadan aid in 2024, providing food packages to enable families to celebrate the holy month at home. The aid is specifically targeted at newly converted Muslims in the mountainous and forested areas of Cox’s Bazar, aiming to prevent missionary efforts and promote Islam. Adsız highlighted the goal of showcasing support from donors, fostering a sense of community and solidarity, and ensuring ongoing assistance to these families throughout the year, especially during Ramadan and Eid al-Adha.
