Türkiye Signs Development Road Project with Iraq, UAE, and Qatar

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on the Development Road Project during meetings in Iraq chaired by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. This memorandum involves joint cooperation between Türkiye, Iraq, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Qatar. Minister Uraloğlu highlighted the significance of this agreement, stating that it would facilitate uninterrupted transportation to Europe and enhance regional trade opportunities.

The Development Road Project aims to connect FAV Port in Iraq to Europe through a comprehensive road and rail network, reducing travel time significantly and strengthening Türkiye’s economic and geopolitical position. Minister Uraloğlu emphasized the project’s role in creating a globally significant commercial corridor and fostering development across participating countries. The ongoing cooperation and strategic planning are set to leverage Türkiye’s strategic location and contribute to regional and global trade systems.
