As the first harvest of the fresh tea season begins in Türkiye’s Eastern Black Sea Region, producers have entered their tea gardens. Traditionally reliant on Georgian labor, recent years have seen a shift towards African workers, particularly from Senegal, due to their hard work.
Senegalese workers have become a favored workforce, entering the gardens early in the morning. However, following media reports, these workers were employed illegally. Gendarmerie teams detained the Senegalese worker, and they are now being sent to Istanbul for deportation.
