Türkiye to Launch Direct High-Speed Train: Sivas to Istanbul

Turkish Transport Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu unveiled the launch of direct high-speed train (YHT) services between Sivas and Istanbul, starting May 4. He emphasized Türkiye’s significant rail infrastructure advancements, including the Ankara-Sivas High-Speed Railway Line, which cut travel time between Ankara and Sivas from 12 hours to 2 hours. With this new service, provinces like Kırıkkale, Yozgat, and Sivas will join the Ankara-centered high-speed train network, benefitting around 1.3 million citizens. Since its inauguration in April 2023, the Ankara-Sivas YHT line has served 971 thousand passengers, marking a milestone in efficient and modern transportation across Turkey.
