Minister of Agriculture and Forestry said that forest fires in Türkiye’s Çanakkale province were brought under control within 48 hours and that shared the current status in the city. A total of 4,080 hectares, including 2,650 hectares of forest area and 1,430 hectares of agricultural land, were affected, and 7 houses and 29 barns and barn-like structures were damaged, reported the ministry. Nearly 9,000 tons of water were used during the extinguishment.
The cause of the fire, which broke out near a settlement, is being investigated.
