Türkiye’s Close Air Defense System Passes Key Test

Roketsan, Türkiye’s leading rocket and missile technology firm, has successfully tested the LEVENT Close Air Defense System, a key national development designed to protect naval platforms from airborne threats. The system, developed by Turkish engineers, is set to enhance the Turkish Naval Forces’ defense capabilities against aircraft, helicopters, UAVs, and cruise missiles.

LEVENT, which integrates technologies from Roketsan’s SUNGUR and HISAR air defense systems, will also be part of Türkiye’s Steel Dome project, contributing to the country’s layered air defense. Equipped with advanced sensor technologies, it offers a fast response time, 360-degree firing capability, and the flexibility to operate in manual, semi-automatic, or fully automatic modes.

The system is expected to provide critical defense to national platforms such as attack boats, enhancing strike power and operational flexibility for the Turkish Navy.
