Türkiye’s domestically produced GÖKBEY helicopter captured striking cockpit footage while soaring over the historic Euphrates River en route to the TEKNOFEST festival in Şanlıurfa. Currently serving in the Gendarmerie Aviation Command, the aircraft highlighted both national engineering capabilities and the region’s ancient landscapes. Praising the platform’s performance, Gendarmerie Pilot Lieutenant Colonel Sermet Sağlamsaatçi remarked, “GÖKBEY is a domestically produced and nationally developed helicopter, a gift from our engineers,” adding that piloting it “is a source of great pride.” With five aircraft currently in service, the fleet is prioritizing crew training before expanding into full-spectrum security and counter-terrorism operations.
