Yusufeli Dam, Türkiye’s first and the world’s fifth-highest arch dam with 275 meters, began retaining water on November 22. The dam was constructed on the Çoruh River in the Yusufeli district of Artvin, Türkiye’s north-east province. With the closing of the floodgates, the accumulated water level has reached 54.20 meters, and the amount of accumulated water has reached 32.5 million cubic meters, authorities stated. The roads near the dam and the houses in the villages are being flooded by the accumulated water.
