Türkiye’s Salt Lake turns Pink

Salt Lake, the second largest lake in Türkiye located within Aksaray, Konya, and Ankara, has turned pink due to algae and bacteria present in the water. The algae produce colored substances to protect themselves from the sun during the summer months when the heat and salt levels rise. This excessive growth of bacteria causes the lake to change color, but it returns to its original white color when temperatures drop and rainfall increases. The lake’s pink hue has made it a popular attraction for both local and foreign tourists.
